Get ready to dive deep!

Why It Works

What makes ‘The Banished’ a must-watch? It’s not just the chilling atmosphere or Grace’s relentless struggle. It’s how this film manages to blend psychological terror with a hauntingly beautiful landscape. Have you ever felt completely isolated, even in a crowded room? That’s the vibe here. The cinematography draws you in while simultaneously pushing you away, echoing the character’s own journey.

Plus, the way it plays with themes of loss and survival is just chef’s kiss. Imagine being lost both physically and emotionally—this film captures that darkness perfectly, leaving you with a knot in your stomach. It’s relatable in the most disconcerting way, and that’s why you need to see it.

The Part That Doesn't

But let’s not sugarcoat it—‘The Banished’ has its flaws. The pacing can drag a bit, especially in moments that feel like they’re building tension but might leave you checking the time instead. It’s not perfect, and some may even find the ending a tad underwhelming, which is always a gamble with horror.
